Admission Requirements

A candidate is admitted into the following programmes of the college if he/she possesses one or a combination of the following:

1. Relevant certificate of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin with at least merit grade in four subjects relevant to the proposed course of study.
2. Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies of any Tertiary Institution recognized by the College.
3. Diploma in the Teaching of (Primary) Arabic and Islamic studies from a recognized Tertiary Institution.
4. WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE/TC/SISC with Credit or Merit in al least four (teaching) subjects including the relevant one(s) to course of study
5. Thanawiyyah/ Tawjihiyah certificate from a recognized Arabic College with working knowledge of English.
6. Any other qualification acceptable by the College as equivalent to any of the above.

PRE-DIPLOMA PROGRAMME:
A candidate is admitted into the Pre-Diploma Programme if he/she possesses one or combination of the following:

1. I’dadiyyah Certificate
2. WASC/SSC/NECO/GCE/TC.II/SISC/HIS

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME
A candidate is admitted into the Certificate Programme if he/she possesses one or combination of the following:

1. Proficiency certificate of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin with at least Merit Grade in the Relevant Subjects.
2. Higher Islamic Studies Certificate (HISC)
3. Any other qualification acceptable by the College as equivalent to any of the above.

REMEDIAL PROGRAMMES:

PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE
A candidate is offered admission into proficiency programme if he/she possesses one or combination of the following:

1. WASC/SSC/NECO/GCE/TC.II/SISC with Merit/Credit/Pass in the relevant subjects plus basic knowledge in the course desired.
2. Basic Certificate of College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies in the desired course (i.e Basic Certificate in Arabic, English, Hausa or Yoruba)
3. Any other qualification accepted to the College as equivalent to any of the above.

SANDWICH (PART-TIME) PROGRAMMES
DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

A candidate is required to possess one or combination of the following:-

1. Relevant Certificate of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies Ilorin with at least Merit grade in four subjects relevant to the proposed course of study.
2. Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies of any Tertiary Institution recognized by the College.
3. Diploma in the Teaching of (Primary) Arabic and Islamic Studies from recognized Tertiary Institution
4. WASC/SSC/NECO/GCE/TC.II/SISC with credit /merit in at least four teaching subject, including the relevant one(s). to the course of study.
5. Thanawiyyah/Tawjihiyyah certificate from a recognized Arabic College with working Knowledge of English.
6. Any other qualification accepted by the College as equivalent to any of the above.
7. University degree.
8. HND/NCE etc.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME
A candidate is admitted into the certificate programes if he/she possesses one or a combination of the following:

1. Proficiency certificate of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies in relevant subject
2. WASC/SSC/NECO/GCE/TC.II/SIS with credit /merit in the major and minor subjects to be offered in the course of study.
3. Higher Islamic Studies Certificate.
4. Any other qualification accepted by the College as equivalent to any of the above.

BASIC CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES
A candidate is admitted into the basic certificate programme if he/she possesses any of the following:

1. WASC/SSC/NECO/GCE/TC.II/SISC with credit/merit/pass in the relevant subject but with no basic knowledge of Arabic/Hausa/Yoruba.
2. Any other qualification acceptable to the College.
