History of the College

The quest to improve the condition of Islamic Education in Kwara State dates back to the late 70s. Following this development, three committees were set up instantaneous at various times by the governments to look into the area of Arabic and Islamic Studies. The committees were to examine the structure of all institutions offering courses in religious education, Arabic and Islamic Studies with particular reference to the following:

The Establishment of the College

The approval given by the Government of Kwara State following the 1991 committee recommendation lead to the former establishment of this institution in September 1992 with the Enabling Law No.5 1993. by the 6th October, 1992, 3 principal officer commissioned to start the college,
